Organization: Ethiopia skate
Youth Leadership and life-skills Learning Program is responsible for leading and managing the day to day operations of the Life Skills program of The Ethiopia skate, which is designed to facilitate the growth and wellbeing of the youth
Essential skills and qualifications:
This includes working closely with partners to develop and implement projects that result in successful, sustainable hubs for youth to seek leadership, life skills, employability, and service learning activities at Ethiopia skate
Work with the program’s Manager to finalize program proposals, budgets and operating plans for new grants to local partner organizations
Support local implementing partners in conducting effective, sustainable leadership, life skills, employability, and service learning programs
Monitor NGO sub-grant activities through regular site visits and ensure sub-grant programs and capacity building support activities are meeting agreed upon targets; and support implementing partners in making programmatic adjustments to address challenges
Deliver needed training and/or coaching to partner organizations to improve their capacity in the areas of life skills, leadership, communications, etc
Plan, organize, and operate, the delivery of programs and services in accordance with the mission, vision, values, goals, and strategic plan of The Ethiopia skate. Designing and developing successful, sustainable hubs for youth to seek leadership, life skills, employability, and service learning activities at Ethiopia skate
Redirect youth into socially constructive lifestyles through employment, education and recreational activities
Develop volunteer and employment opportunities and referrals for atrisk youth through contacts with job trainers, employers, and community groups. Develop new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the organization
Develop and implement long and short-term goals and objectives to achieve identified program outcomes
Deliver needed training and/or coaching to partner organizations to improve their capacity in the areas of life skills, leadership, communications, etc
Build an eco-system of partners and community resources that provide safe and affirming programs that supplement our work. Make staff and young people aware of these community resources and provide linkages where needed. Work with service provider partners to ensure that they are aware of the programs and services of Ethiopia Skate
Oversee outreach efforts with youth and young adults to make them aware of available services and programs
Work with Ethiopia skate staff to coordinate a schedule of groups and activities, and ensure effective and efficient program deliver
Desired Skills
Bachelor Degree in Education, Business or Social Sciences related field with relevant work experience
3 years of experience working in international development, ideally in youth development-related programming
Experience designing and conducting participatory training workshops. Experienced in conducting sessions
Excellent organizational skills and ability to determine priorities; Experience in writing reports and good experience in using Ms
Has leadership skills and able to build team spirit within the team
Detail-oriented with good multi-tasking abilities and communication skills, both oral and written
Able to work well both within a team and independently, in a challenging and fast-moving environment
