Project Overview
BPDO, in partnership with CCRDA/CGPP, will implement activities to CDC-strengthen immunization program capacity in Bati Town, Oromia Special Zone of the Amhara Region. The intervention will focus on identifying underserved populations and applying tailored strategies to improve vaccination coverage. Immunization data for Bati Town are limited, as existing health studies in the wider Bati district have largely focused on malaria and other diseases, underscoring the need for targeted vaccination coverage data. Ongoing insecurity in the Amhara Region has significantly disrupted routine immunization services, resulting in a serious public health concern with potential long-term consequences. In response, BPDO has committed to implementing the CDC-SIPI project in Bati Town in 2026.
The CDC-SIPI Project will be implemented through four core strategic pillars, supported by strong project management systems:
Strengthened Systems and Collaboration
Deep Community Engagement
Targeted Capacity Building
