Job Requirements

Education:

• Master's Degree in Water Supply Engineering, Sanitary Engineering, or with related field of study

Experience:

• 10 years of relevant experience in water supply and sanitation sector

• Strong experience in design and study of water supply systems, construction supervision, contract management, project assessment, analysis, and reporting, development of manuals and technical guidelines

• Experience in training and capacity building is an advantage

Quantity Required: 1

Work Place: Amhara Region, Bahir Dar

Duration of Contact: One year contract

Salary: In line with WASH criteria and salary scale

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the regions, and cities in the study and design of water supply project;

• Prepare training documents, training plans and deliver trainings in priority areas;

• Identify the cities program gaps and management deficits and provides them with the technical assistance or the capacity development they require;

• Frequent field visit (60% of the assignment duration) and follow up the Program activities at all stages: pre-design stage, design stage, construction tendering stage, construction stage, completion & handover stage& maintenance (liability) period;

• Production of contract management & Supervision manual for the consumption of Regions and City, particularly for contract administrator and construction supervisor;

• Assist the Regions /City Water Boards & Utilities in tender advertisement, analysis & award, evaluation, contract negotiation and Contract Signing and implementation;

• Follow up and assist the Regions and Cities on overall program management starting from TOR and RFP preparation, negotiation and agreement up to end of contract implementation and final acceptance of the project includes follow up of payment modality and payment certificate review etc.;

• Produce and submit monthly, bi-monthly and back to office report assignments to the second UWSSPMU and Performs other related and relevant
