Mary Joy Ethiopia, the non-profit development oriented, organization with 28+ year experience dedicated to bringing long lasting improvement in the lives of the community it serves. The MJE’s program focuses on Livelihood Enhancement, Education, Health and institutional sustainability with cross cutting issues of Environmental Protection, AYSRH, HIV/AIDS, Gender Mainstreaming, Inclusiveness and Child protection.
Mary Joy Ethiopia works in more than one hundred Kebeles/Woredas depending on the country’s grass root governance structure. Mary Joy Ethiopia has been awarded fund with the Cooperative Agreement No. 72066320CA00015 with USAID for Family Focused HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment Services in SNNPR and Sidama regions to be implemented by three consortium members, EKHCDC, Progynist and CVDA for the period January 2020 -August 2023. The operational sites include Hawassa, Dilla, Yirgalem, Butajira, Hossana, Sodo, Arbamich, Mizan aman, Tepi, and Jinka. The project is aiming to contribute to meeting Ethiopia goal to achieve 95% of all PLHIV knowing their HIV status; 95% of all people with diagnosed HIV infection to receive sustained antiretroviral therapy (ART); and 95% of all people receiving ART will have viral suppression.
As part of its FY 23 implementation plan, the USAID funded FFHPCTA will work closely with SNNP, Sidama and SWE regions in the Hawassa, Dilla, Sodo, Hosaena & Mizan Aman operating SNUs to increase the coverage of COVID-19 vaccine through demand creation and improving access to hard-to-reach population including PLHIVs and their families using its exiting community structures. Thus, we are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Chief OOVID-19 Vaccine Coordinator
Role and Responsibilities
Review COVID 19 vaccine support work plan and give input to ensure alignment with USAID/Ethiopia guidance as well as MoH priorities.
Work closely and in collaboration with the MJE central technical team and regional technical specialist including sub-awardees/LIPs to achieve the planned objectives.
Work closely and in collaboration with respective regional health bureaus, Zonal HD and their structure’s & implementing partners.
Develop SOP, implementation and training manuals and job aids for community-based service providers.
Provide technical assistance to RHBs, Zonal HD, HFs and implementing partners on necessary areas to support implementation of the national COVID-19 vaccine roll-out.
Ensure availability of different messages, flayers, audio visual education materials on COVID 19 for PLHIVs and ensure its transmission through appropriate medias.
Develop doable responses and guidance for frequently asked questions on COVID 19 vaccine.
Coordinate and monitor COVID 19 vaccines mass awareness creation messages including ensuring availability of appropriate resources such as mobile vans or vehicles with microphone.
Provide technical support to LIPs to amplify the implementation of COVID 19 vaccine demand creation activities.
Collaborate with RHBs, Zonal HD, HFs and implementing partners in organizing and facilitating COVID 19 vaccine trainings.
Provide TA to RHBs, Zonal HD, HFs during the implementing partners in transporting vaccines through arranging vehicles or covering transportation costs.
Support RHBs, Zonal HD, HFs and implementing partners during COVID 19 vaccine rollout campaigns and outreaches.
Prepare biweekly, monthly and quarterly performance reports on the consultancy activities to the MJE technical team.
Prepare & submit an overall final high quality activity report to the MJE Family focused HIV prevention and treatment activity COP.
Perform other related activities as assigned by the immediate supervisor

Qualifications
Preferred: University/College degree in health services
Experience, competency and other Requirement
Strong organizational, initiative taking and problem-solving skills
Ability to collect, compile and analyze various health service activities including report writing
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Knowledge of using the Internet as a research tool
