Job Purpose, Key Results and Duties

Job Purpose

To manage the transport dispatch services of an institution operating up to 50 vehicles, ensuring efficient, effective, timely, and reliable transportation services that support the organization's operational activities.

Expected Results and Major Duties

Result Area 1

Manage the Institution's Transport Dispatch Services

Main Duties

• Prepare annual and operational work plans and budgets for the transport section. 

• Coordinate, supervise, direct, monitor, and support employees under the section. 

• Ensure complete vehicle history records are maintained and updated annually. 

• Verify fuel consumption reports by reconciling supplier records and submit verified reports to the Finance Department for payment processing. 

Result Area 2

Monitor and Improve Vehicle Dispatch Services

Main Duties

• Identify fuel and lubricant requirements and submit requests to management for timely procurement. 

• Ensure adequate procurement of vehicle spare parts and consumable materials and monitor their proper utilization. 

• Establish and monitor systems for scheduled vehicle servicing and maintenance. 

• Take immediate corrective measures, or facilitate corrective action, whenever transport service problems arise. 

• Review transport operating procedures and recommend improved systems and methods for efficient transport management. 

• Review periodic vehicle inspection reports and ensure appropriate corrective measures are implemented. 

Result Area 3

Ensure Vehicle Safety and Compliance

Main Duties

• Follow up vehicle insurance coverage and ensure all vehicles remain properly insured. 

Knowledge and Skills 

Educational

• BA degree: - in Management, Automotive Technology/Engineering, Supply Management, Economics, or related fields.

Work Experience Required

• 6 year relevant field of experience in transport dispatch, Transportation Management, or a related transport operations field.
