Accountability and MAIN WORK ACTIVITIES
SRHR coordinator will actively promote gender transformative approach to SRHR.
Responsible for project design, overseeing implementation and monitoring while ensuring quality program delivery of the overall sexual and reproductive health rights in Amhara program area, networking, developing and strengthening partnerships and mainstreaming of child centered community development.
Key components of the position also include regional advocacy and networking, strategic thematic area planning, developing and strengthening partnerships and mainstreaming of child centered community development.
Given that a significant and increasing amount of the work is done through partnership, a key aspect of the role is nurturing, developing and facilitating the achievement of results through partners
SRHR Intervention; Support the implementation of the project’s SRHR interventions. A strong understanding of Gender Transformative SRHR and gender equality,
Expected Outcomes:
Ensure the proper tracking and implementation of the GFFO Project in the project locations( both in targeted refugee camps and IDP sites).
Ensure the technical soundness, appropriateness and general quality in project design and planning
Ensure the mainstreaming of safeguarding children, Disability and Inclusion, youth economic empowerment in the program area.
Ensure gender equality and the rights of girls.
Coordinate provision of timely responses and guidance in the delivery of SRHR programs
Provide leadership into the project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation; assess the (integration) of activities and outputs, outcomes and impact of program interventions and activities in the program area.
Prepare and develop in consultation with appropriate stakeholder’s annual work plans and project plans.
Under the Country Lead leadership contribute to the development of concept notes and proposals related to SRHR Projects
Ensure M&E and learning in close collaboration with the M&E team.
Ensure quality and timely reporting and documenting of project activities including preparation of quarterly/yearly program progress reports of the SRHR Project activities under the GFFO Project.
Capacity Development & Relationships:
Through participatory approaches, the- SRHR Coordinator will provide capacity development and ongoing coaching to project staff and implementing partners. Cultivating strong and respectful relationships with team members and partners will be an essential component of this accountability.
Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)
Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on and understands their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;
Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day to day work.
Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
BSC in health, SRHR, MD, Public health and other health related fields.
A minimum of 5 years of humanitarian aid experience applied in emergency/recovery response operations preferably in the area of Sexual Reproductive health and rights.
excellent knowledge of Child Protection and SGBV minimum standards and basic principles; Good knowledge of SGBV and Child Protection case management,
Good knowledge of mainstreaming SRHR Program in Child Protection and Youth Develeopement.
Excellent knowledge of basic child protection and youth principles and child & adult development and learning
Good knowledge of donor grants and contract regulations.
Qualifications / experience desirable:
Ability to deliver quality SRHR programs in a desirable time and work under stressful conditions.
Proven ability to work in a team environment and independently.
Excellent written, verbal communication skills in English and Amharic.
Computer literate.
Good interpersonal skills.
Gender sensitive.
Proposal and report writing skills.
Analytical and strategic thinking
Languages required
Fluency in English language is essential
Knowledge of local language is advantageous
