1. About CVM

Comunità Volontari per il Mondo (CVM) is a non-profit making Christian Organization based in Ancona, Italy. It was founded in 1978 by a group of people who had deeply dedicated but also had the concern to help people in their struggle to exist in this world irrespective of who are and where they are from. Comunità Volontari per il Mondo (CVM) has been working in Ethiopia since 1995, focusing its work on water, hygiene, and sanitation, HIV prevention, and control through socio-health interventions, promotion of social policies and human rights, promoting social inclusion and minority rights, support for training and access to education, leather sector, socio-economic and micro-credit development, decent work for Domestic Workers and safe migration. CVM is being implemented diverse projects in different regions of Ethiopia.

2. Function of the Job 

The social worker accompanies the beneficiaries (minors, returnees, fragile groups) facilitating their psyco-social reintegration.

3. Responsibilities

  • Organizes training and orientation in Life Skills and BBS for the identified beneficiaries

  • Accompanies beneficiaries in counseling with the psychologist according to their psychosocial status

  • Ensures that the training methodology is compatible with the educational level of the beneficiaries

  • Promotes the active participation of all beneficiaries during training

  • Manages emergency cases to meet the needs of minor women and girls and organizes their family reunification

  • Manages activities to search for beneficiaries' families together with the relevant offices

  • Monitors the status of the beneficiaries and the implementation of the activities


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences; in areas related to the project will be preferred

  • Previous experience of at least two years in social intervention coordination and/or equivalent functions 

  • Previous experience working with migrant women preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and empathic skills, analytical, reporting, independent and teamwork skills

  • Native speaker of Amharic, excellent knowledge of spoken and written English

  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Office)

  • Equal skills preference will be given to female candidates to facilitate the relationship with the beneficiaries
