Role Summary
The Site Superintendent is responsible for ensuring continuous availability and reliability of site services and utilities required for construction activities during the early stage of a gold mining project. The role focuses on owner‑provided obligations such as power, fuel, water, catering, and general site discipline, enabling contractors to work without disruption. The position does not include technical supervision of construction works or direct HSE management.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure uninterrupted power supply to the site, including oversight of diesel generators, fuel availability, and basic operational readiness.
Ensure reliable fuel supply and distribution to meet owner obligations to contractors.
Ensure continuous water supply for construction camp and site needs.
Ensure catering services are available, functional, and meeting agreed standards.
Coordinate site services such as accommodation, access control, and shared facilities.
Act as the primary point of contact for site service–related issues and constraints.
Ensure contractors receive agreed owner‑provided services in accordance with contracts.
Maintain site order, discipline, and adherence to site rules.
Identify service‑related risks early and escalate issues to the Asset Management Manager.
Maintain daily logs and reports related to utilities, services, and site conditions.
Support site mobilization and demobilization activities from a services perspective.
Promote safety awareness related to utilities and services and report concerns to the Head of HSE.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Technical diploma or degree in engineering, facilities management, construction, or related field.
8–15 years’ experience in site operations, site services, or utilities on large construction or mining projects.
Strong experience in remote site operations, power generation, fuel logistics, and camp services.
Proven ability to maintain discipline and order on active construction sites.
Strong coordination, reporting, and problem‑solving skills.
