To support the successful execution of the MORE Project, ATTA Trading Plc is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Office Engineer with extensive knowledge of quantity surveying, payment certification, project reporting, document control, and project coordination.

Position Summary

The Senior Office Engineer is responsible for managing project documentation, quantity verification, payment certification, progress monitoring, reporting, and coordination activities. The position serves as a critical link between site operations, project management, consultants, and commercial functions, ensuring that project records, quantities, reports, and payment applications are prepared accurately and submitted on time.

The successful candidate must possess strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and proven experience in high-rise building construction projects.

Reporting Line

The Senior Office Engineer will report directly to Deputy Project Manager and Project Manager

The position will work closely with: Site Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Planning Engineers, Construction Managers, Consultants, Subcontractors, Client Representatives

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university with related field of study

  • Applicants with a GPA of 3.20 and above are strongly encouraged to apply.

  • Additional certifications in Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Planning, or Contract Administration will be an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in building construction projects.

  • Proven experience in Quantity Surveying, Interim Payment Certificate (IPC) Preparation, Project Reporting, Cost Monitoring, Contract Administration, Document Control

  • Previous experience in high-rise building construction projects is highly preferred.

  • Experience on high-rise and large-scale commercial building projects is preferred

  • Experience using Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar planning software and working with consultants, international contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams will be preferred

Duties and Responsibilities

Quantity Surveying and Payment Certification

  • Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and measurements for all executed works.

  • Verify site quantities and maintain updated measurement records.

  • Prepare monthly work accomplishment summaries and payment documentation.

  • Prepare and submit Interim Payment Certificates (IPCs) and supporting documents.

  • Review, verify, and certify subcontractor payment applications.

  • Prepare subcontractor payment certificates based on approved measurements.

  • Maintain accurate records of completed works and payment histories.

  • Coordinate with site engineers and quantity surveyors to ensure accuracy of quantities and payment claims.

  • Monitor contract quantities and identify variations, omissions, and additional works.

Planning, Progress Monitoring, and Cost Control

  • Support project planning and scheduling activities.

  • Monitor project progress against approved schedules and work programs.

  • Track productivity rates, completed quantities, and project performance indicators.

  • Assist in monitoring project costs and resource utilization.

  • Identify delays, constraints, and risks affecting project performance and recommend corrective actions.

  • Support management in forecasting project progress and resource requirements.

Material Management and Control

  • Monitor material deliveries, consumption, and stock utilization.

  • Compare actual material consumption against approved material take-offs and budgets.

  • Maintain material tracking logs and consumption records.

  • Identify material shortages, wastage, discrepancies, and inefficiencies.

  • Coordinate with procurement and site teams regarding material requirements and delivery schedules.

  • Prepare periodic material utilization and reconciliation reports.

Reporting and Project Documentation

  • Collect, verify, and consolidate daily site progress information.

  • Prepare Daily Progress Reports (DPRs), Weekly Reports, and Monthly Progress Reports.

  • Prepare project dashboards, executive summaries, and management reports.

  • Maintain comprehensive site diaries and records of project activities.

  • Prepare cumulative progress reports, cost reports, productivity analyses, and performance summaries.

  • Ensure timely submission of all contractual and internal reports.

Document Control and Technical Coordination

  • Maintain organized and up-to-date project documentation and filing systems.

  • Manage correspondence, technical submittals, RFIs, approvals, and project records.

  • Ensure consistency between technical, commercial, and progress-related documents.

  • Coordinate effectively with project engineers, planners, quantity surveyors, consultants, subcontractors, and client representatives.

  • Attend coordination meetings and prepare meeting minutes and follow-up actions.

Contract Administration Support

  • Assist in the preparation and administration of contract documents.

  • Monitor contractual obligations and project deliverables.

  • Support the preparation and evaluation of variation orders, claims, and contractual correspondences.

  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of project contractual matters.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, project documentation, and quantity surveying principles.

  • Excellent understanding of contract administration and payment certification processes.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, and other construction management software.

  • Strong analytical, numerical, and reporting skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet strict deadlines.

  • Strong organizational and coordination abilities.

  • High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of FIDIC contract conditions will prefered
