Job Summary

ATTA Trading Plc, is a reputable construction company engaged in high-rise building construction and ICT infrastructure projects. The company has successfully delivered major Civil, MEP, ICT, and finishing works across Ethiopia.

We are seeking a highly competent and experienced Senior Mechanical (HVAC) Engineer to join our Head Office team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and technical management of HVAC and firefighting systems, while supporting project planning, cost estimation, and implementation activities.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or with related field of study

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in mechanical design, specifically in HVAC and firefighting systems and minimum of 2 additional years of hands-on experience in mechanical installation works within construction projects (mandatory)

Quantity Required: 1

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design HVAC and firefighting systems in accordance with applicable standards, codes, and project specifications.

  • Prepare detailed mechanical drawings, layouts, and technical documentation using AutoCAD or similar design software.

  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).

  • Perform accurate quantity take-offs and site measurements.

  • Develop technical specifications and scopes of work for mechanical systems.

  • Prepare cost estimates, cost breakdowns, and price quotations for mechanical works.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams during installation and execution phases.

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project integration.

  • Monitor and evaluate mechanical installation works to ensure quality, compliance, and adherence to standards.

  • Participate in project planning, scheduling, and progress reporting.

  • Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong expertise in HVAC and firefighting system design

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant engineering software

  • Solid knowledge of quantity take-offs and site measurement techniques

  • Ability to prepare technical specifications and detailed documentation

  • Experience in cost estimation and preparation of competitive price quotations

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
