Logistics officers are responsible for the movement of goods and materials within an organization or between organizations. They plan, coordinate, and manage the flow of these materials to ensure that they arrive at their destination on time and in good condition.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES DETAILS

• Receiving documents from clients to be able to open file

• Advising the client of any missing documents to be able to open file 

• Following up to receive missing documents

• Opening file using the documents received

• Handling over to customs assessors for further registration and clearance

• Follow up registration and advise amount of duty and taxes to be paid

• Follow up to receive CPO or duty-free letter

• Sending original bills of lading to Djibouti

• Follow up further documents processing such as assessment, filling up of transit request, container bond submittal form, and inspection request.

•  Arrange insurance for container bond

• Follow up and obtain of ECD from customs

• Sending ECD to Djibouti

• Follow up loading 

• Follow up truck drivers for real time updates and arrival.

• Follow up inspection and result of inspection

• Follow up release and delivery

• Receiving POD after delivery

• Requesting any disbursements to be made on behalf of the client

• Follow up an arrangement of cash, cheque, or CPO for disbursements

• Follow up empty container return to Djibouti

• Follow up the finalization of customs declaration

• Follow up closing and settlement of container bond

• Keeping records and timely reporting

Job Requirements

Qualification

• First Degree in any social science field.

• At least 2- 4 years’ experience as a Senior Logistics officer

• Good written and spoken English language.

• Good knowledge of Microsoft office

• Good customer service skill
