Job Purpose

The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, and execution of electrical systems for high-value engineering and construction projects. This role combines technical depth with project leadership, ensuring that electrical installations meet performance requirements, safety standards, and client specifications.

Job Summary

Position Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

Reports To: Design Review Manager and Project Coordination Team Leader 

Duty Station: Addis Ababa Head Office

Salary & Benefits: Negotiable, commensurate with qualifications and experience

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the design and specification of power distribution systems, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.

• Develop and review detailed schematics, load calculations, single-line diagrams, and equipment schedules.

• Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning activities, ensuring system integrity and performance.

• Interface with architectural, mechanical, and structural teams to ensure coordinated designs.

• Manage vendor and subcontractor submissions, technical evaluations, and approvals.

• Ensure compliance with local and international standards (e.g., NFPA, IEC, IEEE, NEC).

• Oversee preparation of BOQs, technical reports, project documentation, and client presentations.

• Support procurement and cost estimation by reviewing material specifications and scope alignment.

• Mentor junior engineers, conduct reviews, and support technical growth across the team.

• Stay abreast of industry advancements, including energy efficiency technologies and smart systems.

• Perform any other relevant tasks as delegated and required by the company.
