Job Summary

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, monitoring financial transactions, and supporting the Finance Manager in maintaining effective financial management systems in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Supervise daily accounting activities and ensure accurate financial recordkeeping.

• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions.

• Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.

• Prepare and review financial reports for management decision-making.

• Ensure proper documentation and authorization of financial transactions.

• Monitor company expenses, budgets, and cash flow.

• Ensure timely tax reporting and compliance with applicable Ethiopian tax regulations.

• Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.

• Support internal and external audits by providing the required financial documents.

• Supervise and provide technical guidance to junior accounting staff.

• Identify accounting discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.

• Maintain confidentiality and safeguard the company's financial information.

• Perform other finance-related duties assigned by the Finance Manager.

Job Requirements

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and finance, Accounting, or a related field.

• A Master's degree or relevant professional accounting certification is an advantage.

Required Work Experience

• Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.

• Experience in financial reporting, account reconciliation, tax compliance, and general ledger management.

• Experience in medical equipment, healthcare, import and export, or trading companies is an advantage.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

• High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.
