Duties and Responsibilities

 Advanced Equipment Operation & Oversight

• Operate and oversee exit-end equipment, including tension reels, coil cars, scrap choppers, shears, and strapping machines according to SOPs.

• Monitor strip tracking, exit tension, and winding quality continuously to prevent telescoping, scratches, or interleaving defects.

• Optimize exit-side settings and shearing parameters to match specific product dimensions, strip thicknesses, and shift output targets.

  Mechanical Maintenance & Fault Resolution

• Lead execution of preventive maintenance routines on exit-end machinery, including mandrel segments, belt wrappers, and shear blades.

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical or operational faults at the exit station independently or in coordination with maintenance technicians.

• Support root-cause analysis for recurring exit-side issues (such as winding failures, shear jams, or surface marking) and implement long-term solutions.

   Safety Leadership & Compliance

• Enforce safety protocols for handling heavy coils, automated coil cars, and high-speed shearing/strapping equipment.

• Ensure proper PPE usage (including cut-resistant gloves, safety shoes, and hearing protection) among the exit crew.

• Respond to emergency exit-line stops or strap failures, and escalate critical safety risks promptly.

   Quality Assurance & Production Support

• Ensure finished product quality by inspecting the surface finish, oiling uniformity, coil shape, and dimensional tolerances at the exit end.

• Detect, log, and flag upstream rolling or coating defects before the finished coil is discharged from the mandrel.

• Collaborate with quality control and material handling teams to ensure correct coil identification, labeling, and transfer to storage.

  Team Supervision & Skill Development

• Mentor and train junior exit-side operators on coil discharge procedures, strapping safety, and console operations.

• Assign tasks, monitor exit-station performance, and provide feedback to improve cycle times and packing efficiency.

•  Promote discipline, teamwork, and continuous housekeeping (5S) on the exit floor.

  Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain detailed logs of completed coils, actual weights, scrap generation, downtime, and exit-side delay causes.

• Report major mechanical faults, blade wear levels, and process limitations to the Production Management team.

• Support production tracking systems by inputting accurate coil data and processing metrics.
