About Haile Coffee
Our vision is to be one of the leading producers and exporters of specialty coffee in Ethiopia. Our coffee is grown on our 1500-hectare farm in Masha, western Ethiopia where we have efficient systems for picking, sorting, processing, transporting and delivering for export coffee to the international market. As part of our strategy to add value to Ethiopia’s coffee industry we are now making plans to sell roasted coffee to the local and international market. To this end we are looking to recruit a small team to oversee this part of our business working with our administration, logistics and sales team in Addis Ababa.
Job Overview
The appointment of a Roasting Supervisor will add capacity and expertise to our Head Office team in Addis Ababa. The role encompasses a range of responsibilities covering different aspects of quality control and logistics. The supervisor will also be responsible for overseeing delivery of product to our sales outlets and for increasing sales opportunities in the local market.
Specific responsibilities include:
Oversee roasting service provision incl. product sourcing, roast profile development, quality assurance, product compliance, packaging and delivery; increasing sales market opportunities; costing and pricing, inventory management.
• Oversee and guide a dynamic portfolio of relevant coffee and tea-based products;
• Collaborate with the Red Circle Brewmaster to ensure effective product/ingredient crossover as well as the quality assurance of all coffee-based canned products.
• Perform cuppings for sourcing, training, quality control and customer support activities;
Education:
Food & Hygiene, Operations Management in the food & beverage industry (BA degree) with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the coffee sector
Experience:
3 years in roles such as Quality Control, Logistics and Distribution in the food & beverage industry
Skill and Knowledge:
Understanding and knowledge of Ethiopia’s coffee industry and particularly about the growing sector of businesses involved in roasting coffee in Ethiopia.
Other Job Requirements
Language proficiency in Amharic and English
Good working knowledge of Microsoft products
Ability to resolve problems and work to deadlines
Time management skills and ability to organize and work to timetables
Ability to communicate well and work as part of a team
Frequent travel to regions
