Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders

• Assess, monitor, and document patients’ mental health status and behavior

• Administer prescribed psychiatric medications and monitor side effects

• Support patients during therapy sessions and rehabilitation programs

• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans for mental health patients

• Ensure patient safety and manage risk of self-harm or aggressive behavior

• Educate patients and families on mental health conditions and coping strategies

• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams

• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records

• Respond to psychiatric emergencies and provide crisis intervention when required

• Promote a therapeutic and supportive environment for patient recovery
