The Ethiopian Diabetes Association (EDA), established on January 23, 1984 G.C (1976 E.C), is the first patient-based association in Ethiopia. Its mission is to provide a forum for diabetes patients to discuss prevention, share information, and access treatment. Over the years, EDA has grown into a leading voice in diabetes advocacy, awareness, and support across the country.

Position Summary
The Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing the procurement process of the Association, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and transparency.
Key responsibilities include:
Vendor management: identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms.
Procurement planning: developing strategies aligned with organizational goals and managing budgets.
Purchase orders: creating and managing orders with accurate records.
Market research: analyzing industry trends and supplier options.
Compliance: ensuring adherence to procurement policies and ethical standards.
Collaboration: supporting departments with sourcing and purchasing needs.
Inventory management: monitoring stock levels and coordinating with suppliers.
Performance evaluation: assessing supplier performance and recommending improvements.
Reporting: preparing procurement reports.
Continuous improvement: enhancing procurement processes for efficiency.
About You
Job Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years in procurement or supply chain management.
Experience in humanitarian settings is an advantage.
Relevant certifications (CPP, CIPS) are desirable.
Competencies / Technical Skills
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of supply chain management principles.
Personal Attributes
Detail-oriented and organized.
Able to work independently and in a team.
Strong ethical standards and integrity.
Languages
Fluency in spoken and written English and Amharic.
Requirement Skill
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
