LIYANA HEALTH CARE PLC would like to recruit potential candidates for the position of Medical Radiology Technology Department Head to assign at Yanet General Hospital – Addis Ababa

Job summary
The position holder is responsible to lead and coordinate the department and operate radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
He will do radiologic machine and equipment adjustment & controls to set exposure time and distance according to specification of examination.
Responsibilities and Duties
Supervise Radiology department staffs in carrying out correctly radiologic procedures, result verification & reporting
Prepare a monthly staff duty schedule & liaise adequacy of staffing
Provide staff vacation plan/annual leave according to workload communicating with medical director
Trains and orientates new radiology Technologists in the performance of radiologic procedures
Counsels’ staffs, develops them & as appropriate, utilizes the disciplinary process and maintain a proper record of counseling event
Report weekly, monthly & quarterly activities to the medical director
Attend weekly morning session meetings & share ideas to improve quality of care
Recommend staff for confirmation, promotion or disciplinary action
Responsible for completion of regular performance evaluations for each staff, conduct evaluation for new staff prior to completion of probationary period & maintain a proper record
Be a role model to the staff. Provide leadership & direction in accordance with organizational mission, vision & values
Ensures operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; and verifying receipt of supplies.
Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order. Report equipment malfunctions to operation manager
Develop, standardize, evaluate, and modify protocols for different radiographic procedures discussing with the radiologist
Perform related administrative duties including completing necessary forms, labeling films and film envelopes and maintaining procedure logs

Qualification and Licensing
BSc Degree in Radiology Technology from Recognized University
Having Professional Licensing and Registration Certificate
Work Experience and Required person
5 (Five) year experience
