The Junior IT Officer will provide first-line technical support, assist in hardware and network setup, perform routine maintenance, and document IT processes under the supervision of senior IT staff. This entry-level role is designed to develop practical IT skills through hands-on experience in troubleshooting, system maintenance, and user support. The Junior IT Officer will be expected to learn and adapt quickly while ensuring IT systems remain functional and well-documented.
Job Requirement
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field of study.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide first-level IT support for hardware, software, and network issues.
Assist in installing and configuring IT equipment.
Troubleshoot basic network issues and escalate complex problems.
Perform preventive maintenance on computers, printers, and peripherals.
Maintain hardware inventory & asset tracking.
Support the setup of new workstations and IT equipment.
Implementing and managing security protocols to protect data and systems from threats such as viruses, malware, and unauthorized access.
Regularly updating security software and conducting security audits.
Ensuring data is backed up regularly and securely.
Managing data storage solutions and recovering data in the event of hardware failure or data loss.
Network & Security Support
Assist in the installation of network cables, routers, and switches.
Monitor network performance and escalate issues to senior staff.
Ensure that security policies (firewall, antivirus, access control) are followed.
Maintaining documentation of IT systems, configurations, procedures, and incidents.
Reporting on system performance, issues, and resolutions to Senior IT Officer.
Skills & Competencies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot software and hardware issues.
Knowledge of maintaining and repairing computers, printers, copiers, and other IT hardware.
Understanding of network infrastructure, including cabling, Wi-Fi, and biometric systems.
Familiarity with HRM systems, PEDS systems, and time attendance machines.
Experience in managing IT assets and maintaining inventory records.
Ability to provide technical support and training to end-users.
High attention to detail to ensure software and systems meet business requirements.
