Job Requirements

• Education: TVET Level III or Diploma in Machine Technology, Agricultural Mechanics, Manufacturing Technology, or with related field of study

• Experience: Minimum of 4 years demonstrated experience, preferably in coffee and grain cleaning and packaging factories.

Duties and Responsibilities

  Equipment Operation Support

• Assist in operating coffee hullers, graders, color sorters, cleaners, and destoners under supervision.

• Monitor machine behavior and report irregularities or processing defects to senior staff.

• Help adjust machine settings based on specific moisture levels, grain sizes, and product specifications.

Routine Mechanical Tasks

• Perform basic preventive maintenance such as cleaning dust collectors, lubrication, and tightening conveyor components.

• Support alignment and setup of processing, roasting, or packaging equipment before production runs.

• Report mechanical faults, unusual vibrations, or performance issues immediately.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow food safety guidelines (e.g., HACCP), sanitary procedures, and wear required PPE during operations.

• Participate in safety briefings and toolbox talks.

• Immediately report unsafe conditions, dust hazards, or equipment mechanical hazards.

Quality & Production Support

• Assist in checking grain quality, defect counts, and sorting efficiency during processing.

• Record basic operational data such as throughput, material usage, and shift output.

• Cooperate with production and quality control teams to maintain consistency in product grades.

Housekeeping & Equipment Care

• Keep the food processing and milling area clean, organized, and free of spillages throughout the shift.

• Support end-of-shift deep cleaning, vacuuming, and equipment shutdown procedures.

• Ensure maintenance tools and spare parts are handled and stored properly.
