What You’ll Do

Key Responsibilities:

• Reading and interpret designs or sketches for carving works/projects
• Carving wooden objects based on client specifications and designs
• Selecting appropriate wood materials and tools for each project
• using various carving tools such as chisels, gouges, and knives
• Inspecting finished products to ensure they meet quality standards. etc

What We’re Looking For

Experience: 

Years of Experience: minimum experience of 2 year in wood technology, furniture finishing works or related fields

Skills:

Soft Skills: Creativity and ability to develop unique carving designs and ideas

Knowledge

Knowledge of wood types and their characteristics

Education & Certifications

Educational Requirements: Require at least completion of 12/10 grade high school

ETTE, established in 1964, is a government‑owned enterprise that promotes Ethiopia’s cultural heritage through retail and traditional art production. The role involves interpreting designs, carving wooden objects to client specifications, selecting appropriate materials and tools, and ensuring finished products meet quality standards. Candidates should have a minimum of two years’ experience in wood technology, furniture finishing or related fields and hold at least a 12/10 grade high school qualification.
