JOB PURPOSE

The Junior Banking Officer provides day-to-day operational support, assists customers, and ensures efficient processing of banking transactions. This role contributes to the smooth functioning of the branch by delivering high-quality customer service and adhering to banking policies and regulatory standards.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

• Work Experience: 1 year work experience in banking area as a Bank Trainee.

• Additional Advantage: Knowledge and understanding of Interest-Free Banking.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Attend to customer inquiries, complaints, and requests regarding banking services.

• Provide solutions to customer issues while complying with bank policies and regulations.

• Offer professional advice on banking products and services to customers.

• Process cash and non-cash transactions (deposits, withdrawals, transfers, payments) accurately.

• Assist in reconciling discrepancies in accounts and transaction records.

• Support account opening, updating, and closing processes for customers.

• Ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal controls in all operations.

• Maintain confidentiality and security of customer information.

• Adhere to bank policies, procedures, and service standards during transactions.

• Assist senior officers with document filing, record-keeping, and report preparation.

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly transaction reports as required.

• Ensure proper documentation and secure storage of records.

• Support branch operations by assisting senior staff with day-to-day tasks.

• Participate in resource mobilization and customer service improvement initiatives.

• Help maintain cash balances and ensure daily balancing of cash drawers.

• Continuously learn about banking products, services, and systems.

• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.

• Attend training sessions to enhance professional skills and knowledge.
