We are seeking highly skilled professionals to join this new council and help us deliver projects that shape the nation.

ABOUT THE JOB:

The IT Systems Support Specialist is responsible for the health and performance of the Situation Room's technical infrastructure. Reporting to the Situation Room Manager, you will ensure that all hard Situation, soft Situation, networks, and AV systems operate reliably, providing a seamless and professional environment for executive-level data reviews and decision-making. Your role is to keep the nerve center running without interruption.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Infrastructure Maintenance & Support:

  • Maintain and support the Situation Room's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, display systems, and audio-visual equipment.

  • Perform regular system checks, updates, and preventive maintenance.

  • Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues.

  • Ensure all Situation Room systems are operational and ready for executive meetings and reviews.

2. Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support to Situation Room staff and executive users during meetings and presentations.

  • Troubleshoot hard Situation and soft Situation issues promptly to minimize downtime.

  • Assist users with connectivity, access, and basic system usage.

  • Respond to support requests in a timely and professional manner.

3. System Administration:

  • Manage user accounts, access permissions, and system security for Situation Room systems.

  • Perform soft Situation installations, updates, and patch management.

  • Ensure regular system backups and disaster recovery procedures are in place and tested.

  • Maintain an inventory of Situation Room hard Situation and soft Situation assets.

4. AV & Meeting Support:

  • Set up and operate audio-visual equipment for executive meetings and presentations.

  • Ensure displays, projectors, sound systems, and video conferencing equipment function properly.

  • Provide on-demand support during critical meetings to address any technical issues.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot AV equipment.

5. Documentation & Process:

  • Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

  • Document support requests and resolutions.

  • Assist in developing IT policies and procedures for the Situation Room.

  • Coordinate with the central IT department on network, security, and procurement matters.

Job Specification

Educational Qualifications

  • BSc in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft) are a plus.

Professional Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or a similar role

  • Experience with business intelligence or data visualization platforms.

  • Familiarity with cloud computing environments (Azure, AWS).

  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.

  • Experience with audio-visual system setup and maintenance.

Core Professional Skills

  • Technical Skills: Solid understanding of Windows Server, networking (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and database fundamentals. Experience with AV systems, video conferencing technology, and display systems. Strong troubleshooting skills for both hard Situation and soft Situation.

  • Customer Service: Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to support executive-level users patiently and effectively.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
