Greek Community School is one of the leading schools in Addis Ababa that has served the community for more than a century. We are seeking experienced candidates to fill the following positions.

Job Summary

The position holder is in charge of maintaining the personnel files for the GCA administrative employees, which also includes teachers and support staff. 

Key responsibilities and KPIs

  • Assist the HR Manager in putting the school's strategies and objectives into action by managing all the tasks that fall under the department.

  • Manage recruitment of new personnel, post vacancy announcements, receive application documents, and facilitate selection of applicants upon hiring decision as per the job specification.

  • Ensure that all employee files are organized and that all documents are current and accurate.

  • Process, verify, and maintain personnel-related documentation, including staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, classification, and employee level of absence.

  • Compile and prepare reports and documents pertaining to personnel activities.

  • Ensure the school’s policies on absence control, authorized employment contract, and leave of absence are maintained and annually reviewed.

  • Ensure the fingerprint generates a proper report on a weekly basis to control absenteeism.

  • Coordinate academic and administrative staff performance evaluations and keep a record of the results for staffing decisions.

  • Responsible for the implementation of occupational health, health, and security procedures.

  • Coordinate the staff performance management reviews are undertaken by the appropriate line managers and suitable records are maintained.

  • Manage the preparation of job descriptions and person specifications, the compilation of application packs, the organization of interviews, the arrangement of pre-employment checks, the adherence to Safer Recruitment guidelines, and the distribution of letters of employment and employment information to employees..

  • Process and keep a record of job assignments, release, disciplinary, and experience letters.

  • Assist HRM in the preparation of drafting letters, memos, etc. for employees and outside of the compound.

  • Carries out any other support duties as directed by his/her supervisor.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • BA/BSc in Management, Human Resources Management, Administrative Sciences, or a related field of study.

  • Knowledge of HRIS

Experience

  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, preferably in academic institutions.

Skills, knowledge, and abilities

  • Experience in operating personnel systems

  • Appropriate IT skills.

  • Ability to communicate at all levels.

  • Ability to work pro-actively and use one's own initiative

  • To be well organized,

  • Sound knowledge of all MS Office applications.
