Role Overview
The Head of Human Resources is responsible for developing and executing the company’s people strategy, workforce planning, talent acquisition, performance management, employee development, compensation, and employee relations. This role ensures the company attracts, develops, engages, and retains the top talent required to support sustainable business growth across corporate and field operations.
Key Responsibilities
Workforce Planning & Recruitment: Oversee end-to-end talent acquisition, recruitment campaigns, and structured onboarding workflows across departments.
Frontline & Driver Workforce HR: Design, manage, and oversee HR policies, compliance standards, and engagement programs for large, distributed frontline workforces, including drivers, riders, and field personnel.
Performance & KPI Management: Establish performance review cycles, clear KPI tracking frameworks, and merit-based appraisal systems aligned with corporate goals.
Compensation & Benefits: Design competitive compensation packages, driver/employee incentive models, health benefits, and payroll structures.
Training & Organizational Development: Lead continuous employee training, leadership development, capacity building, and organizational change initiatives.
HR Compliance & Employee Relations: Ensure full organizational alignment with Ethiopian labor laws, employment regulations, internal workplace policies, and conflict resolution processes.
Culture & Engagement: Drive initiatives that foster an agile, inclusive, high-performing corporate culture and track workforce analytics to optimize team retention.
Job Requirements
Key Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
Experience: 7+ years of relevant HR experience, including at least 3 years in a management or executive leadership role.
Frontline Fleet/Field Expertise: Proven experience managing large, distributed, or frontline workforces (gig economy, transport, delivery, or retail networks) is highly desirable.
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of Ethiopian labor law, statutory requirements, employment practices, and HR compliance.
Core Competencies: Proven expertise in talent acquisition, performance management, employee development, culture-building, and organizational transformation.
