ATTA Trading Plc is a leading Ethiopian construction and engineering company expanding into large-scale industrial manufacturing through the establishment of a state-of-the-art Paper Factory and Glass Factory.

To support this strategic expansion, we are seeking an experienced, visionary, and results-oriented Finance Manager to lead the company's financial operations, strengthen financial systems, and support major industrial investment projects.

Position Overview

The Finance Manager will provide strategic leadership for all financial operations, including financial planning, budgeting, accounting, treasury management, taxation, compliance, project finance, financial reporting, internal controls, and risk management.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting executive decision-making, ensuring financial sustainability, and strengthening the company's financial management systems.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance and Accounting & Finance or with related field of study

  • Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is highly preferred.

  • Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, CIMA, or equivalent are highly advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in finance and accounting management.

  • Proven experience in manufacturing industries, industrial projects, factory operations, engineering projects, construction companies, or large corporate organizations.

  • Experience in project finance, industrial manufacturing, or EPC projects is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated success in establishing financial systems, internal controls, budgeting, and financial reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's long-term goals.

  • Provide financial advice and recommendations to executive management and the Board of Directors.

  • Lead business planning, investment analysis, financial forecasting, and capital allocation initiatives.

Financial Management & Corporate Controls

  • Oversee accounting operations, budgeting, treasury, cash flow management, and financial reporting.

  • Establish and strengthen internal control systems, financial policies, and governance frameworks.

  • Monitor financial performance and recommend corrective actions where necessary.

Project Finance & Industrial Operations

  • Lead financial planning and monitoring for manufacturing and construction projects.

  • Evaluate project profitability, investment returns, and financial performance.

  • Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and cost efficiency.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws, accounting standards, and statutory reporting requirements.

  • Coordinate internal and external audits.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team.

  • Promote accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

  • Develop scalable financial systems that support future business growth.

Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain effective relationships with banks, auditors, investors, government authorities, suppliers, and business partners.

  • Coordinate financial matters with local and international stakeholders, including foreign partners and suppliers.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws, financial regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.

  • Excellent understanding of budgeting, project finance, cost accounting, financial modeling, and cash flow management.

  • Experience using ERP systems and modern financial management software.

  • Strong analytical, reporting, and financial forecasting skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
