We are looking for a Fashion Designer to join our team and oversee the research and production of new clothing lines based on current local and international market. 

A fashion designer is responsible for creating eye-catching, innovative designs that will propel the brand to the next level. They are responsible for the entire design of the piece of clothing. sketching out a new design, deciding which type of fabric to use, displaying the piece at an event, and creating a manufacturing plan. They also have to test the design on various models and people. Some of the jobs titles that a fashion designer could grow into are art director and head designer.

Job Requirements

Fashion Designer responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the research and development of new styles for an organization

• Managing the design process from conception through to final styling

• Collaborate with team members to select seasonal themes, make edits to lines and create new concepts

• Select fabrics and trims

• Create production sketches for development packages

• Collaborate with a technical designer to ensure development packages are accurate

• Collaborate with fabric manufacturers for materials

• Work with other designers and creators to build designs

• Create a plan to manufacture designs with a team or partnership

Job Requirements and skills

• A bachelor’s degree in design or fine arts is preferred

• 0-2 Years  work experience as a Fashion Designer or similar role(Gerber Program)

• Female Candidates only

• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Adobe Illustrator

• Ability to do sketches by hand

• Excellent design and conceptual skills

• Relevant training and/or certifications as a Fashion Designer

• Draw, sketch, and plan designs for fashion apparel/accessories

• Research fashion trends and similar designs

• Create tests/prototypes of design pieces

• Ability to do sketches by hand.

• Excellent sense of style and color.

• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to meet multiple deadlines.

• Researching current fashion trends and determining what consumers will like

• Collaborating with the design team to develop ideas for new products based on research data

• Designing sketches for new products with a design team

• Creating clothing patterns for mass production

• Testing and deciding on fabrics, colors, patterns and textures for each design

• Working with team members to design clothes for upcoming seasons

• Selecting fabrics and trims

• In-depth understanding of design principles, fashion, and the fashion industry

• Self-motivated and self-directed
