Job Summary
The Editor IV will serve as the senior editorial lead within the Public Relations and Communication Executive Office. The primary focus of this role is to manage and oversee the editorial integrity of all institutional outputs. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that all written, audiovisual, and media-bound materials adhere to the highest linguistic standards, logical consistency, and institutional branding protocols before public release.
Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communication, Language and Literature (Amharic/English), Public Relations, International Relations, Media Studies, or related fields.
Experience:
Minimum 4 years of proven experience in Editing, Public Relations, or Journalism within a government or reputable international organization.
Job Competencies
Linguistic Mastery: Advanced expertise in Amharic and English grammar, syntax, and editorial styles.
Technical Literacy: Proficient in MS Office and familiarity with desktop publishing or script-editing software (e.g., Adobe InDesign).
Adaptability: Proven ability to manage complex editorial cycles and ensure brand consistency across different media formats (Text, Audio, and Video)
Duties and Responsibilities
Comprehensive Editorial Oversight: Lead the editing and proofreading of all executive office outputs, including newsletters, magazines, press releases, and annual reports, ensuring they are free of linguistic and structural errors.
Institutional Branding: Guarantee that all communication materials strictly follow EPHI’s brand identity, official tone, and corporate messaging standards.
Audiovisual & Media Editing: Review and refine scripts, narrations (voiceovers), and promotional content for social media, documentaries, and mainstream TV/Radio broadcasts.
Bilingual Quality Control: Ensure high-level precision in both Amharic and English languages, tailoring messages to fit the context of the public, international partners, and policymakers.
Executive Support: Edit and polish high-level speeches, policy documents, and strategic briefs for the Institute’s leadership to ensure professional delivery.
