Position:  Chief HR Officer (CHRO)

Career level: Senior level (VIP) 10 to 12 years of HR management or proven experience as a Human Resources Senior Officer or Human Resources Supervisor.

Duty base:   Project site, Addis Ababa (Mekenisa, Kore Square area right after Consolata Catholic in the way from Mekenisa to Kore)

Employment type: Full time after satisfactory probationary excellent performance

Statement of Purpose: 

The Human Resources Manager will support human resources processes by enforcing policies; scheduling appointments; conducting orientation; maintaining records and information.

Major Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Assists with day-to-day operations of the Human Resources functions and duties

  • Processes documentation and prepares reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations etc.).

  • Coordinates HR projects (meetings, training, surveys etc.) and takes meeting minutes.

  • Supports the delivery and effectiveness of training services for applicable Human Resource programs and initiatives.

  • Implements Human Resource programs, operations and services ensuring alignment of strategy and structure with Salam Hospital.

  • Deals with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and policies

  • Assists employees in answering payroll questions by providing relevant information regarding absences, leaves etc.

  • Properly handles complaints and grievances procedures.

  • Coordinates communication with candidates and schedules interviews.

  • Administers and maintains employee files by ensuring the proper new hire paperwork is completed and filed. 

  • Assists in sourcing candidates and updating database. Conduct initial human resources orientation to newly hired employees.

  • Conducts exit interviews and completes termination paperwork.

  • Prepares and amends employee documents.

  • Attend meetings as required.

  • Perform other duties as required/directed.

Job Requirements

Minimum Specification

Educational Qualification and Work Experience

  • MBA/Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 

  • 10 to 12 years of HR management or proven experience as a Human Resources Senior Officer or Human Resources Supervisor.
