The candidate will serve the KEFETA Microfinance as Chief Executive Officer, reporting to its Board of Directors. He/She will oversee the overall management of the institution, including providing clear leadership and direction to the institution, ensuring solid operating and financial performance, recruiting and developing the talent of employees needed to accomplish high performance standards and implement new operational systems and procedures.
Responsibilities
Serve as non-voting member of Board of Directors
Manage the day to day operations of the institution by providing clear leadership and guidance to all functioning departments of the institution, including Finance, Operation, Administration, Special Projects, Human Resource (HR) and IT.
Cultivate high standard culture of cooperation and performance
Drive to achieve both quantitative and qualitative organizational performances, achieve business plan targets
Create and ensure effective collaboration with all shareholders and partners
Uphold standards of risk management at all level and ensure the realization of effective supervisory and management systems and their regular review
Ensure the achievements of institutions mission and dedicate to promotethe financial inclusion
Strategic Planning and Business Development
Develop annual, short-term and long-term plans and budget, incorporate inputs from the different departments for the approval by the Board of Directors (BOD)
Ensure the proper implementation of the budgets and strategic plans, commit to raise the capital raise
Set financial and operational performance targets for all key operating units
Set employee performance standards required to achieve short and long term objectives and goals of the company
Lead the expansion of KEFETA MFIinto new geographic areas of Ethiopia
Maintain solid relations with shareholders and external parties, including various Ethiopian government agencies, the non-government organizations, the National Bank of Ethiopia, investors and other business parties
Ensure quality and timely information flow to investors, regulatory bodies and other stakeholders as relevant
Minimum of MA in Banking/Finance/Economics/Business Administration/Social Science/Accounting/Marketing/Agricultural Economics/Management or related fields Or MBA in Finance/International Business/Social Science/ Cooperatives or related fields
At least ten years of direct experience in financial services providing institutions, 5 of which should be in senior management positions in a microfinance
Demonstrated experience in strategic plan development; presentation of Strategic Plan will be used as selection criteria
Advanced and practical knowledge of Microfinance or banking operations, products and services as well as standard Microfinance compliance regulations, Microfinance laws, business law, employment and labor law, internal operational policies and procedures
Practical knowledge of a wider range of microfinance products, including loans, savings and insurance
Demonstrated experience in leading; and building cohesive and high performing teams
Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
Ability to delegate effectively amongst the management teams and show commitment to the long term development of the management team through coaching and mentoring
Salary: Competitive salary in line with the candidate’s experience and market development with allowances
