Job Summary:

The Biomedical Engineer Personnel is responsible for the sales, installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of medical equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards. The role also supports training of healthcare professionals, provides technical guidance during procurement and tender processes, and contributes to innovation and quality improvement in medical device management.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering or with related field of study

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in biomedical equipment sales, installation, service, or maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Equipment Sales, Tendering, Installation & Commissioning

  • Evaluate and manage tender processes and related activities.

  • Review and evaluate tender documents for compliance and accuracy.

  • Follow up on tender documents and ensure timely updates.

  • Install, configure, and set up medical devices and systems at hospitals, clinics, and partner facilities.

  • Conduct performance testing to ensure equipment operates according to manufacturer specifications.

  • Provide on-site demonstrations, user guidance, and technical support.

  • Support sales activities and equipment commissioning.

  • Monitor product shelf life and prepare timely reports.

Maintenance & Repair

  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of biomedical equipment.

  • Diagnose faults and troubleshoot hardware/software issues.

  • Ensure timely repair to minimize equipment downtime.

Calibration & Quality Assurance

  • Perform calibration of medical devices to ensure accuracy and safety.

  • Maintain records of service history, calibration certificates, and technical reports.

  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards, manufacturer guidelines, and national regulations.

Technical Support & Training

  • Provide training to healthcare staff on proper use and care of medical equipment.

  • Offer technical advice during product demonstrations and tender evaluations.

  • Support sales and customer service teams with technical knowledge.

  • Evaluate tender documents and support all related tender activities.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare service reports, maintenance logs, and technical documentation.

  • Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables.

  • Assist in preparing technical specifications for procurement

  • Report to GM

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all biomedical equipment complies with regulatory and safety standards.

  • Adhere to company policies, occupational safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Participate in audits and inspections when required.

Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of medical equipment (diagnostic, surgical, laboratory, or imaging devices).

  • Proficiency in using biomedical testing tools and calibration devices.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Good communication and training abilities.

  • Willingness to travel for site visits and installations.

  • High integrity, attention to detail, and teamwork spirit.
