Job Summary

The Audiovisual Technician II is responsible for the technical operation, maintenance, and production of multimedia content within the institute. This role involves capturing high-quality photo and video documentation of institutional activities—such as laboratory programs, workshops, and public health campaigns—and managing the audiovisual equipment required for seamless communication and event execution.

Job Requirements

Education: College Diploma OR Technical and Vocational (TVET) Level 3 / 10+3 certificate in :-

  • Audiovisual / Audiovisual Technology / Audiovisual Equipment

  • Cinematography / Photography / Videography / Video & Photography

  • Video Editing / Graphics / Digital Media

  • Electronics / Consumer Electronics / Electronics Communication Equipment

  • Electronics Multimedia / Audio Production / Audio-Video / Sound Production

Experience: 2 years

  • Certification: Must provide proof of COC (Center of Competency) assessment certification.

Job Competencies

  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in operating professional DSLR/Mirrorless cameras, audio mixers, and lighting kits.

  • Software Literacy: Basic to intermediate knowledge of editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or Photoshop).

  • Reliability: Ability to handle equipment with care and work flexible hours during field visits or emergency health events.

  • Language: Good command of Amharic and basic English for technical equipment operation.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to transport and set up heavy audiovisual gear at various locations.

  • High-quality visual documentation of EPHI and Global Fund-related activities.

  • Technical success of all institutional events with zero audiovisual interruptions.

  • Well-maintained and inventoried audiovisual equipment.

  • Engaging multimedia content that supports public health messaging

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Multimedia Production: Capture, record, and edit high-quality video and photographic content for EPHI’s internal and external use.

  • Event Support: Set up and operate audiovisual equipment (microphones, sound systems, projectors, and lighting) for workshops, press conferences, and meetings.

  • Technical Maintenance: Perform routine checks and maintenance on cameras, sound equipment, and editing workstations to ensure operational readiness.

  • Post-Production: Execute basic video editing, sound mixing, and color correction for institutional documentaries and news segments.

  • Archiving: Maintain a digital library of all institutional audiovisual assets, including historical footage of lab capacity-building efforts.

  • Live Coverage: Assist in the technical setup for live streaming or virtual meetings (Zoom, MS Teams, etc.) for national public health coordination.
