Job Purpose

To lead, supervise, and coordinate all accounting and financial activities of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with Ethiopian tax laws, internal controls, and company policies.

Job Requirement

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or with related field of study.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience.

  • At least 2 years in supervisory/leadership role.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of Senior, Junior Accountants and casher.

  • Assign tasks and review accounting entries for accuracy and completeness.

  • Provide technical guidance and training to accounting staff.

  • Ensure proper segregation of duties and internal control implementation.

  • Monitor monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Review journal entries, ledgers, and reconciliations.

  • Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.

  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of VAT reports, withholding tax

  • Reports, income tax reports and pension contributions.

  • Liaise with the Ministry of Revenue and external auditors.

  • Prepare annual budgets and forecasts.

  • Provide financial analysis and management reports.

  • Develop and maintain internal financial control systems.

  • Prepare documents for internal and external audits.

  • Ensure proper document control and record keeping.

  • Identify financial risks and recommend corrective actions.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax regulations.

  • Experience with accounting software (Peachtree).
